We have has one week of school with the last few days being dedicated to beginning to learn content. Biology students are starting with cell biology. Chemistry students are starting with chemical measurements.
I am requiring students to take notes from their textbooks prior to the beginning of each topic and we spent time in both classes going over requirements and taking notes as well according to the requirements.
In this way we can focus on strengthening understandings and developing skills in class. I look forward to seeing their first attempts from this week. This should also help students keep the two years of knowledge on hand in written form to help them regularly review and study.
