Dear Families;
Thank you to all parents for helping us to keep our ABIS community safe. Students are coming to school each morning remembering to follow our health and safety protocols, wearing masks up over their noses, sanitizing upon entry, maintaining social distance and respecting themselves and others in the process. Please congratulate your child for doing so, and continue to remind them about the importance of these procedures for the health of all of our families.
You will have received your child’s report card today. This is an important document, reflecting growth and achievement across all subject areas for the whole of semester one. Please read through it carefully, and take time to discuss it with your child. The report highlights areas of strength for your child, as well as next steps, or areas for growth. It is a time to reflect and celebrate all the learning that has occurred so far this year, and to plan for future goals. Once you have had time to read and discuss the report with your child, please feel free to contact teachers if you need any further information.
Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for school each day. Some students are arriving in shorts or sleeveless tops. Please contact Ms. Eiman or Ms. Zuweina: z.alabdulsalam@abisoman.com to order ABIS clothing, in line with our dress code. Thank you.
Oman Week is finally here!!! Teachers and students have been preparing for special crafts, writing activities, games, music and art projects all week. Classes will be contributing to our Museum of Oman throughout the week, set up in the main atrium. All classes will have the opportunity to display and share their learning from the week, and classes will have the opportunity to take a museum tour and see the culmination of projects throughout the coming 2 weeks. Thank you to parents who have helped with projects at home, to our local Omani teachers and classroom assistants who have worked hard to bring authentic culture to our learning this week, to students for their enthusiasm and energy, and of course to all teachers for planning such an exciting week for their students.
Some classes are taking part in the first ABIS Walk-a-Thon. You will have received information from your child and their homeroom teacher if they are participating. Proceeds from this fundraising activity will support orphaned children here in Oman.
Enjoy your weekend. Maeve
