Dear parents and students,
As you know, there was an announcement recently by the Supreme Committee that all schools would open on November 1st. In response, the Ministry of Education has requested to the Supreme Committee that all international schools be permitted to start earlier. In addition, the International Baccalaureate has sent a letter to the Ministry of Education to forward to the Supreme Committee supporting an earlier start of all IB schools. Therefore, we are waiting on permission from the Supreme Committee to open the school.
At this stage we recognise that face to face schooling with students attending school may not be permitted in the first instance, so we are anticipating ABIS opening with live online classes. In this scenario, all classes will be conducted via live Google Meet with teachers and students, according to a school timetable. Our teachers have been trained to deliver high quality online classes and are eager to begin. A school based website for online learning has been designed to provide information to assist and support parents and students. This website will be available this week.
Parents, students and teachers are keen for school to start, and when we are informed by the Ministry of Education of a start date, you will be advised immediately.
Kind regards,
Dominic Robeau
