Thursday mornings are dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths. This week we decided to explore germs and why we need to wash our hands even though they may look clean. We used bread and ziplock bags for our Science experiment. We placed a dirty hand and a clean hand on the bread then sealed it up. We will compare the two slices of bread next week and conclude our experiment. Outside we had a observation hunt. We had some close up pictures of items found in the playground and in teams we had to search and find them. Some were easy to find and some were more difficult, we had to communicate with each other and share equipment. In the Art room we made cookies. We had to follow a recipe step by step and work together adding the ingredients. We all had a turn at stirring the mixture. The cookies smelt wonderful and we get to eat one at the end of the day. All the children had great fun and lots of learning took place in STEAM in the ECC. Oh by the way if anyone can find Ms Lauma and return her to K1 we would appreciate it, Thank you.
