As part of our CAS programme over the last few weeks students have organised an ‘ABIS winter olympics’, though of a less physical nature involving no snow. Activities have included a quiz, a word game and a skit, plus team challenges involving obstacles. Students were separated into teams and the teachers formed a team of their own. Not surprisingly, the teachers won but then one must consider that their combined age was about 4 times more than any other team and almost the same as the entire secondary school! Next year students may implement a handicap system to make it more even. On behalf of everyone, well done to Valerie and James for taking the initiative and making this a fun and fruitful event and a perfect example of a student led CAS activity. The levels of engagement were high and it appeared that everybody got something from it. There are many more student led activities to come and we will report on these from time to time.

With the Oman Week trips going out next week, only Grade 10 and 11 will be in school doing their IGCSE mocks (10) or a special Diploma support programme (11).  If your child is going on a trip then please make sure that they are fully prepared and that their medical card is given to the trip leader. We look forward to them having a great, fun, action packed but safe week undertaking all of their activities.
Have a wonderful weekend!
