Dear parents,

The plan for Secondary School trips this year is as follows:

Grade 7 will be going on a 4 day camel safari, trek and camp taking a new and more interesting route. They will end with a refreshing swim and pizza treat at the Crowne Plaza. The recent rains have made the walk breathtakingly green and beautiful. For the first time we will have covered mobile toilets!

Grade 8 and 9 will be learning to dive or improving their diving skills at the Millennium resort with Omansail. They will gain their PADI certificate for teenagers and will be  taught by very experienced instructors using the latest equipment. They will also get to meet Saleh Al Jabri, who is the first Omani to sail around the world. Those who are unable to dive due to health reasons will be doing their level two sailing certificate.

Grade 10 will be doing IGCSE exams during Oman week but they will travel to India and work with the Maher charity organisation in late May. This was a great success last year and we hope to repeat the success again.

Grade 11 will be studying!

As it is part of our ‘external’ curriculum (they will form part of our Semester 2 reports) we expect all students to participate in the trips. These are wonderful opportunities to shape positive memories that they will always look back on. They will also develop their character and their determination to overcome obstacles.

Thank you to all the parents who are either supporting these trips by joining us or sending their children along. Please return the trip forms as soon as possible and contact me or the trip leaders if you have any questions. l.thompson@abisoman.com

Have a wonderful weekend!

Leo
