A perfect quotation for Oman Week.
As part of our poetry unit, the students read a couple of poems written in dialect (written as they should be said).
Our most recent was written by the revered Scottish poet Robert Burns (1759-1796) and is called “To a Mouse”. It is basically an apology to the mouse whose house he has just ploughed over by accident.
We were lucky this week to have our music teacher, Scott Mc Birnie, come to class and read the poem in his Scottish accent. What a treat!
Thank you so much Mr. McBirnie.
