Dear Parents,
We are very happy to share that The Parents Liaison Committee (PLC) of ABIS took off with a great start with our first official meeting at ABIS on Wednesday 24, 2018. A discussion was made regarding the roles, responsibilities and expectations of this model body for the betterment of the school community in compliance with the ABIS ideology.
The team came up with many interesting ideas and doable actions. To start off, a “SUGGESTION BOX” was suggested and will be soon placed near LC3, where the parents can conveniently put forward all their suggestions and recommendations. You can leave your name and contact information in case you wish to be contacted for a follow up on your queries/ suggestions. Otherwise you can simply leave your ideas in the box anonymously. We’ll highly appreciate your involvement.
Please consider the following before you make a suggestion.
- We are a support group to suggest, explore and help implement ways for improvement of ABIS. We are not a decision making or rules/policies changing body.
- Any matter that deals with individual needs of your child must be directed to the concerned teacher or ABIS leaders. We’ll not be able to help you for your child’s individual academic issues.
- We can help you in improving the learning experience of your child at ABIS.
- We can help you to convey how you can be involved in school events or even initiating one.
- Positive criticism is always welcome but any complaints about teachers or school system will not be entertained by the PLC.
- For any concerns that the PLC can address, please do contact any of our team members via email. Our team members include: Ella Heuvel, Hajar Abdullah, Sarah Umar, Orla Gallagher, Sean Spratley, Mr.Raid Al-Rubarey, Mr. Ahmad Al-Baloushi or Ms. Zuwaina.
We look forward to working together for a better learning experience at ABIS.
Happy Holidays!
Ella Heuvel.
