We had lots of interesting stories to share this week after the Spring Break. We organized our ideas by writing a PMI (Plus, Minus, Interesting) where we wrote the positive, negative and interesting parts of our spring break. This helped us to stay focused as we spoke. As we shared parts of our holiday, we especially tried to maintain eye contact with our audience and speak in an interesting way for the audience. It was neat listening to what everybody had been up to during the break. Thankfully there were not many negative aspects to report.

Shopping at the Grade 3 marketplace was a highlight this week and gave us a good chance to practise handling money. We tried to pay with the right amount of money but sometimes a little change needed to be given. There was such a lot of tempting things to spend our money on, from shoe shining, henna, and cool toys to yummy things like milkshakes and sweet treats. It made everyone feel excited about being in Grade 3 after the summer break.

We were thoroughly entertained by Mohammed, Retal, Juri and Durra’s performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The creative way they performed multiple characters was inspiring. They had clearly thought about their audience and used props to enhance their play.

Our class were delighted to see George receive the Principal Award at Assembly today. He received this for his positive attitude and helpfulness seen across the school. We all felt very proud of him.
