Hopefully your family has already had a discussion about the top 5 Exhibition topics. The more conversations, the better, as we strive to actually set our Exhibition theme next week!

This week students were learning about the various jobs in Literacy Circles. You could ask your child about which job is their favorite or which one they find most challenging and why (Literary Master, Image Maker, Summarizer, Discussion Leader, Vocabulary Enhancer and Connector). Here are some images of the students as Image Makers. We will start reading novels next week. They will be in groups of 4 or 5, based on the novels they are most interested in reading. Lit Circles are a great way to develop countless reading strategies!

Camp preparations continue. Please send tents in on Sunday, so groups can practice setting them up and taking them down on Monday. Thanks to those who have already send in their supplies. There are still a few Millenium Resort/zip line forms to come in. Please send these on Sunday.

We continue our Global Climate Change inquiry next week, going deep into our research of subtopic questions. Students will report to small groups each day and present to the class on Wednesday. We are also looking into renewable and non renewable energy sources. What forms of energy are used in your home? What does your family do to reduce the impact of climate change? Good topics for discussion!

Have a great weekend!
