ABIS is supporting mother tongue maintenance and wishes to include more heritage languages into our school community. We aim to give the opportunity once a month to our students to have story reading or playing games in their mother tongue. We are looking for parents who would be willing to participate once a month for 20 minutes on the third Monday of each month, reading and, or playing with native speakers across a few grades. We strongly encourage you to be involved as it is important for students to see their home language represented at the school in a meaningful way. This will help develop their sense of belonging to the school community. We would like to develop Mother Tongue maintenance in the long term if parental involvement permits. I will be the coordinator of this activity, so contact me directly at c.fogiel@abisoman.com , by the 15 January, should you be willing to participate. We will organise the activities and the materials together. The first Mother Tongue Monday is planned for 22 January, 2018. Looking forward to the start of MTMs at ABIS.
