Grade 3 have been exploring some poetry with Mrs Drower lately. They have discovered some meanings of words and how ideas are expressed through poetry. How surprised were we to find that the rhythms that we have learnt in Music are all through one of their class poems! Rhythm is part of speech and poetry organises rhythms in the same way that music does. Grade 3 found the rhythms in the poem “Green” today and also discovered that in this poem there are same number of beats in every line. Our PYP program is all about making connections.
