The last Diploma exams finished last week, which was a big relief to the students as the exams are known to be challenging. It was my pleasure to play “Schools Out Forever” by Alice Cooper immediately after the exam was over as the last Grade 12 left the room. This evening we have Grade 12, albeit high school, Graduation Ceremony at the Crowne Plaza, which will be our second one ever. Students are really looking forward to it, especially celebrating the end of 15 years of schooling before transitioning to university.
We recently surveyed all Secondary students on aspects relating to their learning ranging from ‘technology to timetable’ and got some very useful feedback. We are currently looking at survey results and deciding upon the specific actions to improve in some of our services. Overall, we are pleased to hear that the vast majority of students are happy with the school, have good relationships with their teachers, and feel motivated or are becoming more motivated about learning.
The Arts Evening last Wednesday was excellent once again, and it was uplifting to see our student performing and displaying their work to such a high standard. The programme has really grown over the last few years, so we are thankful to Miss Camp, Mr Griebenow, Miss Saunders and Mr Clarke for their dedication and inspiration. What a fine set of teachers. Thank you to everyone who came out to offer their support.
The Student Council paid a visit to the new building with their guide Mr Tomalin and loved it! We really cannot wait until we move across and can make use of all of that extra space. It’s time to move.
There are now three weeks to go before the summer break, so we aim to make the most of our time before then.
