Thank you to all who attended our coffee morning yesterday. We covered a range of topics, addressing concerns and answering many questions.

Our first topic of discussion was about the expansion of the school. We talked about the differences and similarities between the two sections and how the current school would change and benefit from the expansion. As discussed the International Community Section will remain the same but will have access to the new facilities that the expansion allows for. The Global Section will offer slightly more Arabic and Islamic Studies than is currently on offer in the ICS. We have continued to employ high quality staff for both sections.

Clothing: the school has decided on a revised Dress Code which will be shared within the next two weeks. We have ordered a huge range of samples from Lands End which will allow choice and a variety of colours and logos. We hope to have the samples available for parents and students to view and order before the end of the school year. Students will be expected to wear ABIS branded tops for all day to day activities including PE. They will have a choice of what to wear below the waist as long as it fits in with the Dress Code.

Communication: feedback that parents would like more notice of upcoming events especially those that require special clothing, colours or items. We will continue to work on improving in this area. Please remember to check the calendar on our Broadcaster as well.

The new building: We hope the new building will be sufficiently complete before the end of the school year so we can offer a tour to groups of interested parents.

Shading: We continue to investigate options for shading in the playground. In the meantime students should wear hats and Suncream. It is currently optional for students to be outside. Most children are playing in the gym at this point in time.

Speed Bumps: in light of recent events the school has asked for speed bumps to be placed in the school and approaching school. We are smoothing them out so they are not so bumpy! Please take care.
