Dear G5,

Firstly, sorry for not having this up sooner this morning but last night at 10pm I had (very minor) surgery to fix my face. Kinda like a facelift…awkward…creepy…grody!

Anyway, below are the guidelines for the reflection on your unit learning and investigation into your global issue that you must have evidence on Sunday, 2 June of having started.

Think carefully about formatting before you start writing.

Reflection on unit learning

This must include a write up on what you did and learned in the unit. Include the Central Idea, Lines of Inquiry, an explanation of some the activities or project we did and your overall learning from the unit.

You should also include things like your personal experience or relationship with the topics or themes related to the unit. For example, for Healthy Happy You, you could talk about the fact that after the unit you starting eating more fruits and vegetables because you realized you don’t eat enough of them. Or the opposite, you realized that although you learned about the benefits of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, you didn’t make the informed choice of eating more of them.

Minimum 3 paragraphs and 20 sentences.

Along with the write up, other things to consider including are UOI in the news and visuals.

Investigation into your global issue

This must include a write up and sources on your global issue. Things you could include in the write up:

A definition of your global issue. For example, what is a sweatshop? What makes a factory a sweatshop?
Definitions of key terms and vocabulary related to your global issue.
Parts of the world where your global issue is most found.
Statistics and maps related to your global issue.
A fictional story you wrote about your global issue.

Minimum 3 paragraphs and 20 sentences.

In addition to the write up, other things to consider including are your global issue in the news and visuals with captions.

THIS IS DUE NO LATER THAN SUNDAY, 9 JUNE-WITHOUT EXCEPTION

See you Sunday, Mr. George
