Dear ABIS community,
Every year, as a culminating experience of the PYP for ABIS and other PYP students all over the world, we engage our learners in an in-depth, collaborative inquiry. Through topics selected with the students, the journey involves demonstrating all aspects of the programme and results in student driven action.
On Wednesday and Thursday this week, we rearranged our timetable to officially start our journey with all our G6 teachers and students.
Here is where we are so far….
Grade 6 students find these ideas important.
We connected resonating ideas to the PYP Transdisciplinary themes.
We practiced unpacking a topic using the 8 key concepts to deepen our thinking before choosing our own.
Here are all the ideas and questions that might arise in a unit of inquiry journey about language.
This concept map about sports shows our initial ideas about possible actions that might develop from the inquiry.
Here are some action ideas arising from an inquiry into friendship.
Thanks to our parents who came to learn about the Exhibition on Wednesday. We also watched a Prezzi about the way the students might present in the 12th stage of the Exhibition with the understanding that the process is the most valuable to students in being able to plan, implement and assess their progress throughout an inquiry journey.
We will host another catch up session for parents in 2 weeks and keep you posted on what the students are doing.
May peace be with you this weekend
Suzanne
