Dear parents,
Firstly, please join me in congratulating your son or daughter for a wonderful assembly today. As with the launch in December, 2012 of ABIS’s paper recycling program with Muscat Daily newspaper, today grade 5 again had the honour of unveiling a new component to ABIS’s recycling program: the recycling of drinking cans. Both the yellow paper recycling bin and the blue can recycling bin are beside the security guard hut in the parking lot. Please be sure to recycle your empty and crushed drinking cans and paper in these bins starting on Sunday!
Secondly, this week there is no homework booklet as in previous weeks. Instead, each student is responsible for taking ownership of their specific duties for their PYP ‘Mini-Exhibition’ (see below for more details), continue to research and write their biography of a peace leader and of course read, read, read.
Finally, the second half the G5 assembly today was the official launch the above mentioned PYP ‘Mini-Exhibition’ (ME). ME is a showcase of the students’ learning journey through the PYP Units of Inquiry and is taking place at ABIS in the multi-purpose area on 10,11&12 of June. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please continuously discuss your child’s involvement and learning with regards to ME with them over the next two weeks and support them any way you can. More news on this exciting event will be forthcoming.
