Since the beginning of school, grade 1 students have been studying authors such as Audrey Penn, Dav Pilkey, and Donald Crews. One thing these authors have in common is they take small moments from their lives and turn them into stories. This is exactly what grade 1 has been doing. We look for the small moments in our lives, turn them into stories and then into books, just like real authors do! Just like authors share their books with others through readings, we had the opportunity to share our writing with each other during our authors celebration and with the grade 6’s during book week. These books were then added to our classroom library so that the students can enjoy them again and again
