Whilst we hope that Secondary School students enjoyed their unexpected day off school on Wednesday, we are relieved to say that we are now fully operational again today. To make this happen our staff worked particularly hard to set up new classrooms and rescue (retrieve and clean) equipment and books. There is still the need for a few items, such as fabric pencil cases, to be washed yet virtually everything has been restored to something similar to its original condition. Students have been provided with sanitised cloths so that they can give their possessions another wipe and keep their hands free of germs. All classes are running as normal and our routines are generally the same. The only large change is the location for several subjects with Grade 6,7,8,9 and 10 having their own spaces and teachers travelling to them each lesson, rather than the other way round. Basically, each grade will have many of its lessons in a single location unless they have Music, PE, Science, Dance or Art where they will travel to different classrooms, as per normal. We think that it will be a few weeks in our new locations before we can return to the Secondary School building, which will be thoroughly cleaned up by professionals during this time.I have attached a few pictures of staff hard at work on Wednesday as well as students in their new locations today. Thank you to the many staff across the school who went beyond the call of duty and made this possible. I will notify you when students are able to return to the Secondary Learning Centre.
