Another amazing week in our class! The students continue to demonstrate their knowledge, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Throughout our activities, we have been focusing on the Key Concepts of Causation, Responsibility, and Function.

  • Mathematics: Students worked on rounding three-digit numbers to the nearest 10s and 100s. We explored what causes a number to round up or down, as well as the function of using rounding to estimate reasonable answers in addition.

  • Literacy: We continued developing our phonics skills and matching sound correspondences. During our rotations, students identified the main ideas in paragraphs focused on human body systems. In writing, they reflected on our personal responsibility to care for our bodies through exercise, hydration, sleep, and healthy eating.

  • Unit of Inquiry: Students wrote about what causes our respiratory and circulatory systems to function, highlighting the vital responsibility each organ has in keeping us healthy and alive.
