Dear parents,

As we come to the end of another busy week at ABIS, it is good to see our students settled into their learning and the routines of the school year. Across the school, classrooms are busy and purposeful, and students are continuing to build on the learning and progress made since August.

We have also noticed a welcome change in the weather. Temperatures appear to be cooling slightly, which has allowed students to spend more time outside during first break. After the heat of recent months, being able to get outdoors, move around and enjoy time with friends is a welcome relief. Hopefully, we will see this continue over the coming weeks.

As we are in the flu season, the Ministry of Education has advised schools that flu vaccinations are available and particularly recommends vaccination for people who may be at greater risk. Families who feel this may be relevant to them should seek appropriate medical advice.

There are now just two more weeks of school before the October break. It has been a very full first part of the school year, and I know that both our students and staff will appreciate the opportunity for a well-earned rest before returning for the next stage of the term.

Looking slightly further ahead, school reports will be available after the first week back following the October break. These will provide families with an early indication of how students have settled, their progress so far, and areas to focus on as learning continues.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of the school and of your children’s learning. I wish everyone a relaxing weekend.
