Dear parents,

It has been another busy and positive week at ABIS, with many opportunities for learning, engagement and community connection.

Our Parent Coffee Morning and workshop were both very well attended this week. It was wonderful to see so many parents joining us, asking questions and engaging in meaningful discussions about their children’s education. My sincere thanks to Ms Maitha and Ms Sharouq for delivering the workshops in both English and Arabic, ensuring that the sessions were accessible to our wider parent community.

Today, our Grade 5 and Grade 6 students shared their learning in an excellent assembly. Grade 5 presented a thoughtful exploration of hidden feelings, while Grade 6 examined the important and complex topic of migration. Both grades approached their subjects with confidence, sensitivity and creativity, and we were very proud of their work.

Our After-School Activities continue to run well, with strong student participation and enthusiasm. It is very pleasing to see students engaging in such a wide range of activities beyond the classroom.

We are also working with a professional tennis organisation to introduce tennis lessons at ABIS from October. The organisation comes highly recommended and has provided tennis programmes at several schools in Muscat, including ABA, for the past ten years. We will share further information with parents soon.

Nautilus Swimming Club is operating at ABIS every afternoon. Parents looking for an additional activity for their children are encouraged to consider enrolling them in this excellent club, where students receive high-quality swimming instruction from experienced coaches.

We have seen an increase in flu-like illnesses within the school community this week. While this is not unusual, we kindly remind parents to keep children at home if they are unwell or showing clear signs of illness. This will support their recovery and help keep all safe.

A reminder for that we are seeking new members to join the Parent Committee. Please contact me should you be interested.

Finally, we are seeking a donation of gravel to create a driveway in the empty back lot (behind the new Science block). If you are able to support this, please let me know.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. I wish everyone a restful and enjoyable weekend.
