Welcome to Week 3! It’s been another incredible week of growth, discovery, and high energy across all our math classrooms and advisory groups.
Grade 9 Advisory
- This Week in Our Learning: We finalized our academic and learner profile goals for the year and launched a thoughtful activity focused on identifying core personal values and making choices aligned with who we are. We were also thrilled to welcome a new student, Hajar, to our class family!
- Student Spotlight: A warm welcome to Hajar! Huge kudos to the whole class for giving Hajar such a friendly, supportive welcome and for bringing genuine heart to our value-identification activity.
- Looking Ahead: Next week, we will continue putting our values into practice as we build a strong, supportive advisory community.
Grade 9 Mathematics
- This Week in Our Learning: We wrapped up our unit on the laws of indices and took our first steps into surds.
- Student Spotlight (Highlight of the Week! ): Huge congratulations to our Grade 9s for conquering their first practice summative task on Assessprep! Navigating a new platform can be daunting, but everyone handled it with confidence and demonstrated a remarkably solid understanding of the concepts.
- Looking Ahead: Next week, we will explore the concept of surds in even greater depth.
Grade 10 Mathematics
- This Week in Our Learning: We completed our topic on relations and functions, mastering key concepts like functions, their graphs, and finding the point of intersection between functional graphs.
- Student Spotlight: High praise to our Grade 10s for their strong understanding and active participation. It’s awesome to see these concepts click so naturally!
- Looking Ahead: Next week, students will reflect on their learning through a practice summative on Assessprep before we begin exploring exponential functions and their graphs.
Grade 11 Mathematics
- This Week in Our Learning: We officially completed our straight lines unit and carried out a formative assessment accompanied by thoughtful student reflections.
- Student Spotlight: Shoutout to our Grade 11 DP students for their ongoing dedication and insightful self-reflections after their formative task!
- Looking Ahead: Next week, we’ll dive deeper into linear functions as we transition into real-world linear modeling.
Grade 12 Mathematics
- This Week in Our Learning: Seniors mastered key differentiation techniques in our Calculus unit, developing a powerful set of tools for advanced mathematical analysis.
- Student Spotlight: Massive recognition to our seniors for their determination and solid grasp of calculus techniques—your hard work is truly paying off!
- Looking Ahead: Next week, we will begin applying our differentiation skills to analyze and understand the properties of curves.
Thank you to all our parents and students for another wonderful week of learning and connection. Have a restful and refreshing weekend!
Warmly,
Mr. Arun
