Dear Primary Families,
I hope you have all had a positive second week of the new school year. It has been another busy week across Primary, with students continuing to settle into their classes, build connections, and become increasingly familiar with the routines of school life.
Meet the Teacher Night
It was wonderful to see so many parents at our Meet the Teacher Night on Tuesday. These occasions are an important opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers and learn a little more about the routines, expectations, and learning experiences within each grade level. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us.
Seesaw was mentioned across Primary during the evening, and I strongly encourage you to make sure you have connected to your child’s class account. Seesaw is an important communication tool, helping you keep up to date with messages while also providing a valuable window into the classroom and the learning taking place. If you have questions about your child’s learning, their homeroom teacher will most often be the best person to contact, as they work most closely with your child each day.
Settling into the New Year
As we complete Week 2, it is already noticeable how classes are settling into their routines and developing class norms aligned with their Classroom Essential Agreements. Students are reconnecting with old friends while also beginning to form new friendships with those who have joined our community this year.
The beginning of a school year is always a period of transition. New classmates, new teachers, different learning spaces, and the expectations of a new grade level all require some adjustment. We work hard to support students through this process and to help them feel confident, connected, and ready to learn. It has been pleasing to see these new classroom communities beginning to take shape.
After School Activities Begin
On Sunday, we begin the first round of our After School Activities (ASAs). I am looking forward to seeing students engage with the wide variety of activities on offer, try new things, develop different skills, and, most importantly, have lots of fun!
As a polite reminder, if your child is attending an ASA and you are collecting them afterwards, pick-up time is 4:00 pm. We appreciate your support in ensuring students are collected promptly.
