🎨 Visual Arts Learning Highlights
This week in Visual Arts, our students explored a variety of creative ideas, techniques, and elements of art through hands-on activities.
KG1: Students practiced tracing circles and then created a fun activity where they drew a penguin holding balloons, developing their fine-motor skills and creativity.
KG2: Students created a collage using fabric and a variety of materials. They explored different fabric shapes and textures to create a representation of their own bodies.
Grade 1: Students explored lines, the first element of art, by practicing tracing and creating different types of lines.
Grade 2: Students painted an imaginary animal skin by creating patterns using different shapes and limiting their artwork to two colors.
Grade 3: Students were introduced to the artist Vincent van Gogh and began practicing how to create a sunflower using their own imagination and ideas.
Grade 4: Students began learning about the color wheel, focusing on primary and secondary colors and how they are connected.
Grade 5: Students were introduced to value as an element of art and explored different types of Omani antiques, using them as inspiration for studying and creating still-life artwork.
Grade 6: Students began exploring Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series and were introduced to his unique artistic style, including Dynamic Cubism.
It was a wonderful week of exploring, experimenting, and expressing ideas through art! 🎨✨
