This week marked the conclusion of both the gymnastics and swimming units, with students completing their final assessments and performances. Throughout the week, students demonstrated the skills and understanding they have developed over the course of the term, showcasing their progress and commitment to improvement.
In gymnastics, students completed and performed their final routines, bringing together the balances, transitions, and movement sequences they have been refining in recent weeks. It was pleasing to see students performing with greater confidence, control, and creativity, while demonstrating an improved understanding of composition and performance quality.
In swimming, students completed their final assessments, allowing them to demonstrate their technique, water confidence, and overall progress in the pool. Many students showed improvements in stroke efficiency, body position, and endurance, reflecting the effort they have put into developing their skills throughout the unit.
With all assessments now complete, students can look back on a successful term of learning across both activities. The units have provided opportunities for students to challenge themselves, develop new skills, and build confidence in a variety of physical environments. We look forward to beginning new units next term and continuing to support students in their physical, social, and personal development through PE
