Dear Primary Families,
This week ended on a high with our KG1–Grade 1 Assembly, and it is always a pleasure to see our youngest students sharing their learning on stage with such confidence and enthusiasm. Preparing young learners for performances like these takes a great deal of time, patience, and encouragement, and I would like to thank the teachers and classroom assistants for all their efforts in supporting the students. It was a lovely way to end the week and celebrate the learning taking place in our youngest grades.
Earlier in the week, our Grade 5 students hosted their Digital Citizenship learning celebration. This was a very successful event and highlighted an area of growing importance for all young people today. While many social media platforms have age restrictions, we are aware that some primary-aged students do access these platforms outside of school. At ABIS, we work with students to help them understand the importance of being responsible digital citizens and to make thoughtful and safe choices online. We greatly value the role that families play in reinforcing these messages at home, and the partnership between school and parents is incredibly important in helping students navigate the digital world positively and responsibly.
Next week, we will hold our next Parent Coffee Morning on Tuesday, combined with the DP Art Exhibition. We hope that many parents will be able to join us for this opportunity to connect as a community and celebrate student creativity.
We will also finish next week with a special performance of The Jewel of Muscat, written by our music teacher, Mr. Mino. This cultural performance celebrates Omani heritage and will take place in the Mazoon on Thursday, 14th May at 8:30 am. Parents are warmly invited to attend.
Wishing you all a happy and enjoyable weekend.
Best regards,
Matthew
