You’re Invited! 🎉
On Tuesday, 5th May, Grade 5 would like to invite you to the Mazoon from 8:30-9:30 am for our Digital Citizenship Exhibition, where they will be sharing their understanding from our Sharing the Planet unit. Please see the flyer here. We hope you can join us!
This week, students have moved from planning their realistic fiction stories to beginning to write them, starting with engaging hooks to capture the reader’s interest. During this writing time, some students have participated in one-to-one or small group conferences with their teachers to help add detail and strengthen their stories.
Students have mostly completed their research and are now typing up their findings for their UOI inquiries. They have also begun to apply their understanding by creating two role-plays that demonstrate their digital citizenship concepts in action.

Next week, students will be wrapping up their inquiries and preparing to share their new understandings with others in the Mazoon on Tuesday 5th May from 8:30–9:30 (you are warmly invited to join—please see the invitation above). In writing, students will be editing and revising their stories using a self-assessment rubric to guide their improvements. We will look forward to the Book Fair being at ABIS. Both classes will attend Sunday morning but it is open from 7:30am-4pm daily if you would like to have a browse at a different time.
Book Fair Next Week!
We are pleased to announce the return of the Book Fair at our school, which will take place from 3rd to 7th May.
Grade 5 classes will visit on Sunday, 3rd May. If you would like to visit the fair at another time outside of these class visits, you are always welcome to do so.
Important Information:
- The fair is open to all members of the school community, including parents.
- Book prices start from 1 Omani Rial, and vary depending on the type and size of the book.
- There will be a wide variety of books suitable for all ages.
