Happy Thursday Roblox Families,
Student Led Conferences were such a success ! I absolutely loved having this time with the students, it gave me the chance to really observe them in a different way π
I was so proud to see how much their English speaking has grown. They were able to confidently use vocabulary, explain their thinking, give instructions, and present their work so beautifully. It was such a special moment to watch. It was also really lovely to see the students have that one on one time with you. In such busy days, that undivided attention means so much to them, and you could really see how proud and excited they were to share their learning π
Thank you all so much for being part of this, it truly made the experience so meaningful. I can confidently say the students loved sharing their classroom and their work with you β¨
During the conferences, students shared their animal research projects, their written reports, their food chains, their dioramas, as well as some of their English and Maths work. Our Unit of Inquiry, Sharing the Planet, is now coming to an end π.Β
Next week, we will begin our new unit, How the World Works, where we will be exploring light and sound π‘π
Our central idea is: Light and sound help people experience the world.
I am really looking forward to this very hands-on unit, I think the students and I are going to really enjoy it.
In English, we have now completed our informational writing pieces about the studentsβ chosen animals. This was such a big task, and I am incredibly proud of the effort and progress they have shown.
Next, we will be moving into procedural writing. Students will be creating a simple light or sound device and explaining how they made it step by step. We will be focusing on using transition words such as first, second, third, and so on, to help structure their writing clearly.
Kind regards,
Ms Cami
