This week we started the Ramadan timetable with shorter days but still packed with learning.
Students have been keeping up with number work in a variety of ways- through individual, paired, group or whole class learning. We continue to practice writing numbers, check our adding skills and work on tens and units understanding. The students are great at helping each other and we did a take turns counting game which got them thinking and collaborating well.
In Unit work, we are learning about the different jobs people do to help in our community. We are fortunate to have some extra help and so children were able to sit and explain to an adult who could write for them, what they knew about various jobs. In this way, we often get more information and ideas as the children are not trying to write, they can just say what they are thinking. We will be trying to interview parents about their work soon as we made a short list of questions but need to translate these into Arabic. Be prepared at home for this!
Happy weekend to all.
