Dear Secondary Families,
As we approach the Holy Month of Ramadan, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to all of our families who will be observing this special time. Ramadan is a period of reflection, gratitude, compassion, and community, and it offers a meaningful opportunity to strengthen values such as kindness, service, and self-discipline. These values align closely with the principles of the International Baccalaureate, particularly the Learner Profile attributes of being caring, principled, and reflective. We wish all of our families a peaceful and blessed Ramadan, and we look forward to supporting our students throughout the month as we continue learning together as a school community.
As we enter this month, please note that Ramadan school hours will begin on Sunday, with the revised schedule already shared with students. The school day will now finish at 1:00 pm each day.
A gentle reminder to families that our Ramadan ASA programme will run from 1:00–2:00 pm on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday. During this time, a range of activities will be available for our MYP students, alongside additional IB Diploma support classes for our Diploma students. We strongly encourage our Diploma students to take full advantage of these sessions, as they provide valuable academic support and will help students stay focused and on track during this important stage of the programme. At the same time, we recognise that Ramadan can be physically demanding, particularly for students who are fasting, and we kindly ask families to consider their child’s wellbeing and energy levels when deciding on ASA participation.
We also gently remind families that good sleep habits are always important, and while routines may naturally shift during Ramadan, maintaining consistent rest remains key to supporting children’s learning, focus, and overall wellbeing. We appreciate your partnership in helping students balance school responsibilities with this meaningful time of reflection.
Please also note that next Thursday will be a no-school day for students, as the holiday has been granted in celebration of Teacher’s Day.
Ramadan Kareem.
