Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. It has been a high-energy week in the music department, filled with both public performance and significant classroom progress.
Firstly, I would like to congratulate our students who participated in the International Food Evening! It was wonderful to see their talent and hard work contribute to such a successful community event.
Our MYP music students continue to advance through their units. here is an update on their progress this week:
- Grade 7: Music for Advertising – The students have reached an important milestone and are currently presenting the drafts of their jingles. It is exciting to hear how they are translating their “reflections on the use of time” into creative musical hooks for their ad campaigns.
- Grade 8: Music for Films – Our Grade 8 students have moved into the production phase and are now adding music to their chosen film scenes. They are focusing on the timing and emotional impact of their compositions against the visual cues.
- Grade 9: Rock and Pop – The creative energy is high in Grade 9 as students have begun filming their music videos. This stage allows them to merge their musical performances with the visual aesthetics of the Rock and Pop genres they have been studying.
- Grade 10: The e-Portfolio – Our Grade 10 students are moving deeper into their final assessment requirements. They are now working on Task 2 and Task 3 of the e-Portfolio, which involve detailed evidence of their development and their final artistic outcomes.
Thank you for your continued support of our music program.
