Thank you so much for attending our Exhibition finale this week. We genuinely hope that you enjoyed, not just seeing your own child’s work, but embracing the other student’s inquiries too. There was a really interesting range of topics and so many immersive and fun experiences to get involved with. As you can see from the video below, some of the student sessions were very busy during the day – some with over 100 students. There was a real energy and sense of wonder and excitement.
We also hope you found time to look at your child’s PYPX art work (a piece symbolising their own growth and progression throughout the project / the PYP), as well as hopefully enjoying our 39 piece orchestral version of the iconic Star Wars classic ‘The Imperial March’.
I am certain that you took many photos and videos of the event, so below are just a few teacher taken snippets from the event.
A huge congratulations to the students. Not only in preparing and practicing for the event, but in their stamina throughout the day. With the exception of a few breaks they were presenting from 8.40am in the morning until nearly 6.30pm. That is a herculean feat and I would wager that all the students slept incredibly well last night, they were happily running on empty by the end of our finale.
Thank you once again for all your support, help and enthusiasm for this project. Next week we will do a deeper reflection with the students and really look at the highs, lows, what we have learnt and what skills attributes we need to focus on going forward as we look towards the transition into Middle School and the MYP. On that note, please be aware of the Grade 6 MYP Information Evening, which will take place on Tuesday 17th February from 4:30pm – 5:30pm, upstairs in LC3. After witnessing a successful Exhibition, this is a great time to look forwards and take the chance to ask questions and to see how each student can continue their growth within the Secondary MYP system,
Have a great long weekend,
The Grade 6 Team
