Dear Secondary Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed a peaceful and well-deserved Winter Break. It has been wonderful to see students return this week refreshed, motivated, and ready to learn.

Across the Secondary School, lessons have quickly resumed and students have re-engaged positively with their learning. Many subjects have now launched new units of inquiry, and it has been pleasing to see students already working with focus and enthusiasm on new coursework and projects.

Our Model United Nations (MUN) students have met this week as they begin preparations for the upcoming MUN conference at ABIS in a few weeks time. We are excited to see our delegates representing the school and demonstrating their growing confidence in diplomacy, research, and public speaking. Our Student Council has also been proactive in planning events and initiatives for Semester Two, and we look forward to seeing these take shape in the coming weeks.

Next week, I am pleased to invite parents to our Parent Coffee Morning on Tuesday from 8:00–9:30am. This is an informal opportunity to come together as a community, connect with one another, and mark the start of a new semester.

Next week we will also be hosting our Parent–Teacher Conferences on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sign-up sheets for appointments have already been shared, and I look forward to meeting with parents and students to discuss progress, growth, and next steps for learning.

Today, Semester One Reports have been issued. I encourage you to take time to review the report with your child, celebrate areas of success, and discuss any areas for improvement. These conversations can then be continued with teachers during next week’s conferences.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable long weekend.

Warm regards,

Andy Cooper
Head of Secondary
