This past week has been full of Sports Day activities – either participating or watching and cheering for our House Teams. The students have put so much effort into their athletics and had so much fun participating while supporting their teammates. It’s been a fantastic three days of celebrating sports, culminating with a fun and showy assembly this morning. The students were excited to hear that the Red Falcons won Sports Day House points and overall, Yellow Foxes are the current winners for House points.

For our UOI, the students finished up their model homes built for a particular biome, are just finishing up their reflections and research packets They are very proud of the model homes they built and have been able to explain why their home is suitable for that biome.

In maths, we have answered equation problems and did some work with place value.

For literacy this week, we have made words using phonics and spelling patterns and worked on our recount of a story.

Thank you for your continued support for our Grade 2 learning and I wish you a relaxing winter holiday. The students have all worked hard for these past few months and deserve a restful and fun break away from school — please remember to encourage your child to read every day and, if you are travelling, keeping a journal is one way to support your child’s ongoing writing development and creativity. I look forward to renewed enthusiasm after the holiday and digging into our learning for 2026!
