We are thrilled to report a major success in the Grade 11 IB Biology class, where students have just completed the unit on Cell Respiration. Historically, this topic has been a hurdle for many students due to the introduction of complex, new terminology—making it a true test of biochemical understanding. However, this term’s cohort has risen to the occasion, displaying a full and solid grasp of the processes involved in releasing the energy required for all daily life activities. They now fully understand the intricate metabolic pathway that converts fuel into ATP, the universal energy currency. This mastery not only marks a major achievement in their current studies but also establishes a crucial, robust foundation for their future studies in biochemistry. We are immensely proud of their hard work and look forward to seeing them reinforce this theoretical knowledge in their practical laboratory work next week.
