Dear Parents,

I hope this message finds you well. As the countdown to the Winter Concert continues, I wanted to share an update on the dedicated rehearsal process and upcoming assessments in our music classes.

All our music students (Grades 7, 8, and 10) are fully focused on preparing for the performance on December 15th at the Mazoon. The students are not only mastering their performance pieces but are also gathering evidence and reflections as part of their MYP assessment.

Here is the progress by grade:

  • Grade 7: Students have been making excellent progress with their group songs for the concert. Following the national holidays, they will be having a formative assessment to check their understanding of performance techniques and rehearsal progress.
  • Grade 8: The Grade 8 class has successfully finished rehearsing their general ensemble song and continues to work diligently on their small group piece. They will have a formative assessment next week focused on their practical application of music elements.
  • Grade 10: Our Grade 10 students are finding the complex arrangement of their class song challenging to play together, but they are demonstrating fantastic dedication and are striving to make it work through focused rehearsals. They will also be having their formative assessment next week to gauge their progress on stylistic performance and collaborative technique.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment our students are showing during this intense rehearsal and assessment period. We look forward to seeing you all on December 15th!

Thank you for your continued support.
