This weekend in Palm Garden, 15 amazing kids took action to help our community cats!
With support from their moms and families, they organized a bake sale to raise awareness about the cats living in Palm Garden and the TNR project taking place there.
TNR stands for Trap, Nurture, Release — a humane method that helps stabilize the cat population and reduce suffering. As part of this project, the cats are taken to a supportive local vet, Dr. Usman Shakir, who provides a generous discounted rate: 12 OMR for male nurturing and 20 OMR for females.
Thanks to the hard work of our young volunteers, the bake sale raised about 150 OMR — enough to help multiple cats receive the care they need.
These young leaders showed entrepreneurship, social justice, and true community participation. Their compassion and teamwork made a meaningful impact, and we would love to see this effort spread throughout our other communities.
Well done, Palm Garden kids — you’re making a real difference!
