This week, we went outside and practiced our skip counting with sidewalk chalk, counting by twos, fives, and tens up to 50. It was a fun way to combine movement and learning! Additionally, we learned new “spelling friends,” such as qu and ou, which help students read and recognize more words.

In our Unit about the Earth, we explored what our planet is made of. We began last week with a nature walk to discover which elements we could find in our surroundings and asked the question: “What is the Earth made up of?” Back in the classroom, the students drew and discussed their ideas, focusing on elements like land, water, air, and living things. We concluded the lessons by creating a group poster that showed and labeled all these elements. Step by step, we learned what makes up the Earth and why these elements are important.
