1. This Week in Our Learning: This week in MYP Design, our classes have been focused on the crucial final stages of their projects: production and reflection. Grade 7 students are writing their final reflections on the “Business Logo” unit, looking back on their journey from initial concept to creating their final logo as a bas-relief clay sculpture. This process taught them valuable skills in design, sculpting, and the ceramic process. In Grade 8, students have just completed the construction of their “Cultural Clocks,” which required them to skillfully combine 4-5 signs and symbols from their home country into an effective cardboard composition. Their main task this week is to gather feedback from peers and others to complete their final project reflections.

2. Student Spotlight: A special congratulations to all our designers for their hard work on these complex units. We want to highlight the exceptional clay logos produced by Ruth, Janna, and Shamma in Grade 7, and the outstanding “Cultural Clocks” created by Alice and Sheiam in Grade 8.

3. Looking Ahead: With these projects now complete, our designers will be moving on to new challenges. Next week, Grade 8 will begin an exciting new unit: designing the official poster for our whole-school Art Show, which will open on December 4th!
