Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well as we approach our week-long break. I am writing to share an update on the progress and final activities in our music classes before the pause.
In Grade 7, students have successfully received feedback and comments on their recent summative task, allowing them to reflect on their learning and compositional process. They have now shifted focus and begun working on the class song for the Winter Concert, a great opportunity to apply their skills in a large ensemble setting.
Our Grade 8 students have continued their practical application of the Blues unit by successfully putting the 12-bar Blues structure into practice on their chosen instruments. This hands-on work solidifies their understanding of musical form and improvisation fundamentals.
The Grade 10 class is actively diving into performance practice by working on a new Jazz song. This exercise allows them to explore the stylistic nuances and interpretive demands of the genre as a group.
Thank you to all students for their commitment and excellent effort over the past few weeks. I wish you and your family an enjoyable and restful week off!
Thank you for your continued support.
