Dear Parents,
I hope you are having a wonderful week. I am writing to share an update on the progress and recent milestones achieved in our music classes.
In Grade 7, students completed their original compositions for a video game or movie scene. This project allowed them to integrate their knowledge of scales within a creative, real-world context.
Our Grade 8 students have completed their 12-bar Blues projects, applying their understanding of complex chord progressions and the practical use of the Blues scale. I am very proud of the thoughtful compositions they submitted.
The Grade 10 class has wrapped up their initial exploration of Jazz by finishing their presentations on different Jazz styles. This marked the conclusion of their first major unit, showcasing their research and analytical skills alongside their performance practice.
ASA Band Update
This week also marks the end of the ASA session. We would like to extend our thanks to all the students who participated in this activity this term. We hope that more students will be encouraged to join us for the Band ASA next term to continue developing their performance skills!
It is wonderful to witness the students’ sustained effort and creativity across all grade levels as they continue their musical journey.
Thank you for your continued support.
