Dear Parents,

Another action packed week in Grade 6. Probably the highlight was our mini UN summit of empathy. In this exciting event students represented one of 6 fictional countries (all with very big differences in terms of health care, education, industry, resources and crime rates etc). The aim of the conference was to understand multiple perspectives and realise that not every person has the same advantages and opportunities. The conference ended by countries putting forward resolutions and then all delegates voted to accept or reject each proposal. Please find more in this week’s Seesaw.  Please also see some photos from this event below.

Seesaw – also in Seesaw this week, you will find your child’s personal narrative planners with emotions and senses layered in. As well as this, your child will model how they are comparing / ordering fractions by find the lowest common denominator (LCD).

Next Week in G6…

UOI – Students will now have the opportunity to use their research skills to look into a future migration that they might want to consider when they are older. They will be documenting their findings and highlighting the challenges, risks and opportunities connected with such a journey. They will also be reflecting on how that proposed country might impact their identity and how they might be able to assimilate into a new culture. The outcome of this will be in next week’s Seesaw
