Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to provide an update on the progress of our music students.
In Grade 7, students had time to practice their songs for their formative presentation and have also begun learning about major scales. This will help deepen their understanding of melody and harmony as they continue to explore “Music for Video Games.”
Our Grade 8 students completed a formative assessment on identifying music elements within a Blues score. They also practiced chord progressions on the piano, applying the theoretical knowledge they have gained.
In Grade 10, students had a formative assessment on Jazz styles and performed their individual songs to the class. It was fantastic to see them apply what they have learned in their individual interpretations.
