The school year has begun with a bang!! The students collaborated on the first day of school and created the classroom’s Essential Agreements.

This week we completed the ‘Getting to know you’ quilt. We will laminate all the students’ work and create a huge quilt in our shared area. I can’t wait for it to be completed and neither can the students. We have started phonics and grammar in the classroom. I currently am using ‘Fundations’ programme, if you would like to research it. In Grammar our focus is nouns, and you are welcome to talk about nouns in your home language. The more we talk to the students about what they are doing in the classroom makes a huge impact on the students work ethic. Please support them in their learning journey.
Next week in math we will be completing the numeracy base level assessments. This will help guide me when supporting their learning in math. After we complete the base level assessment I will be focusing on patterns, place value, and data handling. Discuss these math topics with your child.
Who We Are will be the first Transdisciplinary Theme the students will investigate. I have attached the UOI Flyer below. Please take some time to look at it. This unit’s presentation will be a Shoebox Autobiography. I will share the directions on SeeSaw.
Home Learning = Reading Journals have been given to each student. Please send them back completed on Thursday. I will return the journal on Sunday.
Communication = Please message me through SeeSaw Messages. This is the quickest form of communication.
