Dear Parents,

I’m happy to share with you that we had a wonderful first week of school with our new Grade 1 students! It is normal for children to feel a little nervous at the beginning, but it was lovely to see how quickly they felt comfortable and excited to learn with me, Ms. Adima, and their classmates.

This week, we focused on getting to know each other and settling into our new learning space. We explored the idea that our names are made up of letters and sounds. The children practiced building their names, counting the letters, and we even made a name graph to see who has short names and who has long names.

We also started visiting our Math and Reading stations, and together we created our class birthday calendar, which will have a special place in our classroom throughout the year.

Thank you for helping us start the school year so positively. I’m looking forward to many more exciting weeks ahead!

Warm regards,
Ms. Guinee
