Here we are, the end of the academic year has arrived! It’s been a huge year for me: moving country, changing schools, and adapting to a new curriculum. I can’t thank the students and staff enough for helping me settle in and navigate all the new experiences. I’ve learned so much about the IB, and I have to say, I love it. It makes perfect sense to me, especially seeing the positive impact it has on our learners in helping them become well-rounded, mature, and independent people.

I want to take a moment to give heartfelt thank yous to my partner in crime, Mr Duncan, and our incredible Grade 8 students. Mr Duncan truly embodies the IB philosophy and exemplifies every aspect of the Learner Profile- I have learned so much from him. In reflecting on the year together, we’ve often spoken about how valuable it is when staff actively model these attributes, demonstrating them in our daily actions and interactions. It’s a powerful reminder that the best way to inspire our students to live the Learner Profile is for us to lead by example.

There’s been so many high points this year and I have been so happy to be working with G8, they should be so proud of their progress and achievements. We are sad to say goodbye to some, as they move on to exciting new pastures. I wish them every success in what they do next!

Our final assembly was lovely and, once again, our grade 8 band did us proud, performing 2 songs to the whole school. I feel like the graduated DP students may have passed the ‘school band’ baton on to these students!

Wishing everyone a relaxing, peaceful and love filled break!

Many thanks,

Ms. Jo
