Dear Parents and Students of G1A
It has been a super- rewarding, often challenging and never dull first year at ABIS for me! I have learnt so much from the children, other staff and parents so I am grateful to everyone for making this an amazing first year in Sohar and Oman.
My class have been incredible learners, enthusiastic, curious, funny and fascinating. I have loved seeing the first attempts at speaking, writing and reading in English which is always such a special time so I feel privileged to have shared that with you all this year.
We have done so very many lessons, activities and games and had lots of amusing situations and interesting experiences. I thoroughly enjoyed our trips as you learn even more about each other outside the school. We had a wonderful Wadi trip, beautiful beach visit and successful supermarket study! Students were open to new experiences, demonstrated their knowledge and understanding and were risk-takers. During the Unit where we learnt about community, students developed their communication and inquiry skills as they asked appropriate questions and found out information about our parents’ jobs.
I hope that everyone has a fantastic and relaxing summer holiday and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
