For the our three days this week we have been organising our work and have sent some of this home so please have a look in your child’s bag. Any work now sent home can stay at home to be shared with family.

We have also been working hard on our personal narrative about a trip to the beach. The students began by thinking of a time they visited a beach, with family or friends, then they brainstormed four events that happened during that time, from there, they began writing their first draft. We have been learning about how to ‘hook’ a reader using a variety of strategies and then how we can close our writing using different ideas. In the middle, students used transition words (first, next, finally, etc) and added some adjectives to make their writing more interesting and descriptive.

For maths, we are finishing up our time packets and have also had the opportunity to play some maths games and discuss strategies used.

Our UOI has been lots of fun, we have had fun practising our Reader’s Theatre and were able to watch one of the well-rehearsed plays where we gave feedback to improve a performance.

Thank you so much for sending in food and drink for our party today. The students had a lovely time sharing their food; it was lovely to spend this time together before attending the Summer Concert.
