Grade 7 Visual Arts students are wrapping up the year with a special and meaningful project—creating ceramic clay medals to celebrate their artistic journey and accomplishments. This final activity allows students to design and shape their own unique medals, serving as personal awards that recognize their creativity, effort, and growth throughout the year.
Each medal reflects the individual style and artistic development of its maker, incorporating techniques learned over the past months. From carving to glazing, students are actively engaged in the entire ceramic process, applying their skills in a hands-on and expressive way.
This project not only reinforces their knowledge of clay techniques but also provides a sense of pride and closure as the school year comes to an end.
Below are photos of Grade 7 students: some are focused on carving their medal designs, while others have moved on to the glazing stage.
